Hanoi has begun vaccinating people aged 15-17 against Covid-19 starting Tuesday, its Department of Health announced.

Over 304,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be administered during the campaign, expected to last three days, starting with the oldest.

The vaccination is being done at schools and at medical stations for non-students.

Those who have congenital or chronic conditions will be vaccinated in hospitals.

The capital plans to vaccinate all 792,000 children aged down to 12 by the first quarter of 2022.

It is the 23rd province or city to vaccinate children.

So far around 1.8 million, or 20 percent of children in the 12-17 age group, have received at least one shot, while 4,300 have got two.

Children under 18 years have accounted for around 17 percent of Covid infections, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
