French helicopter carrier docks in southern Vietnam

Vietnam welcomes the helicopter carrier Dixmude of the French Navy on Friday as part of the Jeanne DArc mission. The amphibious assault ship is currently docking at the Phu My Port in the southern Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. This Mistral-class amphibious assault ship is 180 meters long with a payload up to 22,000 tons and can carry 16 helicopters, dozens of armored vehicles and military equipment.

The ship has two sterile surgical rooms, an X-ray room and 60 beds with a full team of specialists and nurses.

Soldiers standing in the Dixmude ship to welcome visitors. In each campaign, we can organize 600 to 800 people on board with comfortable living conditions, said a media officer on board.
