Yen was dismissed from all Party positions last week for violating Party regulations and laws regarding government secrets, asset declaration and family affairs.
The 58-year-old Hanoian served a long time in the police force. From late 2006, he worked as assistant of the deputy chief of staff of the Communist Party's Central Steering Committee on Anti-corruption. In 2010, he was appointed deputy head of the committee's southern office, before becoming deputy head of the Commission for Internal Affairs in January 2022.
The commission works as an advisory and supporting body for the Party Central Committee regarding major internal affairs policies, corruption fight, and justice reformation.
