Held on Nov. 23-24, the event featured over 27 presentations on the latest advancements in treating nasal and sinus conditions, thyroid cancer, and head-and-neck surgeries.
Doctors received practical insights into reconstructive and cosmetic techniques, addressing the evolving needs of patients. Key attendees included British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew; Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management; and Associate Professors Dr. Le Minh Ky and Dr. Le Cong Dinh, Vice Presidents of the Hanoi and Northern Provinces Association. Speakers from the Hanoi and Northern Provinces ENT Association and Facing The World also contributed.
"This event provides an opportunity for medical experts from the U.K. and Vietnam to exchange experiences and share knowledge, working towards improving treatment quality for the community," Ambassador Frew stated.

Key presentations included expert insights from Peter Clarke on managing facial nerves in head and neck cancer surgery and Dr. Florian Bast on techniques for complex nasal septum reconstruction.

Katrin Kandel, voluntary CEO of Facing The World, emphasized the organization’s dedication to fostering sustainable healthcare training systems in developing countries.
"Vietnam has a high rate of children born with congenital disabilities. Collaborating with Hong Ngoc Hospital and other major hospitals here is a crucial part of our global mission," Kandel said.
She believes combining international expertise with the dedication of Vietnamese medical professionals can drive meaningful, long-term improvements in healthcare.

In addition to conferences, Facing The World conducts annual charity consultations and surgeries in Vietnam, connecting global experts to share their knowledge.
The organization also undertakes biannual missions, working with medical teams at hospitals such as Hong Ngoc General Hospital, Viet Duc Hospital, and Central Military Hospital 108.
