The Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) issued a weather advisory on Monday forecasting thundery showers on most afternoons during the first two weeks of March, with some extending into the evening.

Despite the rain, the weather will remain warm.

Daily maximum temperatures are expected to range generally between 33 and 34 degrees Celsius, occasionally reaching 35 C. Total rainfall for the first half of the month is forecast to be near the seasonal norm for most areas.

The MSS attributed the wet outlook to prevailing north-east monsoon conditions, with low-level winds blowing primarily from the north-west or north-east.

This pattern mirrors the weather experienced in the latter half of February, which also saw frequent afternoon thundery showers that occasionally lasted into the evening.
