Authorities on Sunday said the man, identified as Mathias, allowed his dogs to roam freely on the beach in Bang Saphan District, Prachuap Khri Khan Province, without leashes. Local residents have called on police to gather further evidence of the attacks, the SCMP reported.
The case has been referred to Thailand's immigration bureau, which is considering revoking Mathias’s visa, according to Khaosod.
The most recent attack occurred last week when 76-year-old Swiss tourist Rolf Webber was bitten by one of Mathias’s dogs while exercising on the beach. Webber, despite Mathias's request not to report the incident, informed the authorities for public safety reasons.
Thai officials had previously instructed Mathias to keep his dogs off the beach, but reports suggest that he ignored the request. Local residents say the dogs have caused disruptions at the beach for some time, with incidents dating back to 2023.
A local restaurant owner reported that the dogs had even attacked children on the beach.
