Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) reported on Monday that the country recorded an average rainfall of 419.0 mm in November, the highest for the month since 1980.

This total rainfall broke the previous record of 390.1 mm set in November 1992, and was 47.4% higher than the long-term average for November.

The NEA also noted that on Dec. 7, Singapore experienced its hottest December day. The temperature in Paya Lebar, located in the eastern part of the island, reached 36.2 degrees Celsius, surpassing the previous high of 35.9 degrees Celsius recorded on Dec. 6, 2016.

On Nov. 16, a heavy rainfall led to flash floods in the northwestern part of Singapore, resulting in some of the highest daily rainfall levels in 46 years.
