Python dangles from mall ceiling in Bangkok, sends shoppers screaming

On Nov. 8, visitors to Future Park Rangsit, a major shopping complex north of Bangkok, found themselves in a surprising wildlife encounter when a python appeared above a retail unit and began creeping along the ceiling beams.

The snake could be seen stretching upward toward the ceiling before losing its balance and causing several startled shoppers to flee.

Video footage shared on social media captures the moment: the snake's body hanging briefly in mid-air, shoppers ducking and staff quickly arriving on the scene. Thanks to prompt response, the incident was brought under control.

Once secured, the python was removed from the mall premises and released back into its natural habitat.

Online commentary ranged from relief and amusement to awe that such a large reptile could venture into a commercial setting. "How come the snake got in the mall?" a comment on YouTube read.
