The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has warned that several provinces and cities across the south and the south-central coastal region may see showers and localized thunderstorms during this period.
Meteorological authorities attribute the unseasonal weather to changes in atmospheric patterns combined with rising humidity, which are creating favorable conditions for the development of convective clouds.
Forecast models indicate that a low-pressure trough and a band of moist clouds are currently active over the region. Additionally, strengthened moist air masses moving in from the East Sea are a key factor driving the thunderstorms.
For Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring areas, international forecast models predict scattered showers on Wednesday and Thursday, primarily occurring in the late afternoon and at night. Temperatures are expected to range from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius.
The American forecasting site AccuWeather anticipates that HCMC will be "mostly cloudy with a couple of thunderstorms in the afternoon" on Wednesday.
The outlook for Thursday remains similar, with the site predicting "mostly cloudy and humid" conditions with "a couple of afternoon showers."
