A press conference on study in Hong Kong was held recently in Ho Chi Minh City to explore tertiary education and career opportunities in Hong Kong for Vietnamese students.

With the theme "Transform with Hong Kong, it is your turn to GET IT," the "Introduction of Universal Connect Vietnam Educational Information: Study in Hong Kong" event provided an overview of Hong Kong's leading education ecosystem and offered Vietnam's younger generation insights into the city's top universities.

Xu Zhou, Deputy Consul-General of the People's Republic of China in HCMC, and representatives from the HCMC Department of Culture and Sports, attended the event, engaging with representatives from eight Hong Kong universities, including City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), Lingnan University (LU), and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).

Owin Fung, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore, highlighted the advantages of studying in Hong Kong and policies supporting international graduates.

In his welcome speech, Fung said, "Hong Kong's education system not only provides you with a university degree but also serves as a solid launchpad for a global career. We have implemented practical support policies, allowing international students to stay for up to 24 months after graduation to seek employment opportunities, helping young people fully leverage Hong Kong's diverse and dynamic work environment."

The program continued with a presentation by Truong Vu from The University of Hong Kong (HKU), providing an overview of why Hong Kong remains a unique study destination, blending world-class education with a multicultural living environment.

To offer authentic perspectives, current students and alumni from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU)—Pham Ngoc Mau Tam, Vo Thi Mai Khanh, and Le Phan Trung Quoc—shared their experiences. They recounted their journeys, from adapting to a multicultural setting to balancing academics and life, as well as opportunities in research and career paths after graduation. These firsthand insights provided a clearer, more relatable view of student life in one of the world's most dynamic cities.

University representatives also shared practical insights, including visa support for Vietnamese students, internship opportunities, the vibrant international student community, and real-life examples of career development after graduation.
