Singer Shontelle brings 'Impossible' to life at school year opening ceremony in Vietnam

Barbadian singer Shontelle lit up a school year opening ceremony in Dak Lak Province with her hit "Impossible" on Thursday, captivating hundreds of students through her performances and charitable donations.

During the event at Ea Wy Primary School in Ea H'Leo District in the Central Highlands province, Shontelle was joined by Vietnamese artists, composer Duong Khac Linh and singer Sara Luu.

Together, they presented gifts to the students, marking the beginning of the new school year, which was celebrated nationwide in Vietnam on Thursday.

Shontelle's performance of "Impossible," her 2010 ballad, was met with cheers as hundreds of children waved along to the melody.

As part of her visit, Shontelle donated a sum equivalent to 12 computers to the school, a contribution to a community project funded by private investors and represented by her. The initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities for disadvantaged children in mountainous and remote areas.

On Friday, she visited Vo Thi Sau Primary and Secondary School in Ea Wy Commune, Ea H'Leo District, where she distributed more gifts to the students.

The singer has been involved in charitable activities in Vietnam over the past few months.

Shontelle, 39, is a singer, rapper, and songwriter who debuted in 2005 with the song "Colours".

Her career skyrocketed in 2010 with the release of "Impossible," which became a major hit, peaking at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. and reaching the top 10 in several other countries, including the U.K. and Canada. The song remains a favorite among fans from the late 80s and early 90s generations.
