The National University of Singapore (NUS) has emerged as Asia’s top university for producing ultra-wealthy graduates, according to a new report by data firm Altrata.

With approximately 3,400 alumni having net worth exceeding $30 million each, NUS significantly outpaces its nearest regional rival, China's Tsinghua University, which counts around 1,400 ultra-wealthy alumni, according to the recently published University Alumni 2025 report by Altrata.

Globally, NUS secured the 17th spot among universities producing the most ultra-wealthy individuals.

Dominating the global rankings, the United States holds 17 of the top 20 positions, led by Harvard University with a staggering 18,000 ultra-wealthy alumni. The University of Pennsylvania trails in second place with 9,300.

Outside of the U.S., the U.K.'s prestigious University of Oxford leads with 4,900 ultra-wealthy alumni, closely followed by the University of Cambridge with 4,700 alumni. Among non-U.S. universities, NUS ranks third overall.

The Altrata report also sheds light on the industries attracting wealthy graduates, defined as those with net worth of at least $5 million. Banking and finance dominate, employing approximately 24.9% of wealthy alumni, while business and consumer services come second at 16.8%, and the technology sector ranks third at 10.1%.

Interestingly, wealthy alumni who graduated within the past 20 years are twice as likely to be engaged in technology sectors compared to their predecessors from earlier decades, reflecting evolving industry trends and shifting interests among high-net-worth individuals.
