British University Vietnam (BUV) has officially launched seven U.K.-accredited programs in Business, Computing and Innovative Technologies, Communications and Creative Industries, and Hospitality and Tourism.

Future-focused programs

BUV has officially introduced the seven undergraduate and master's programs starting in 2025, a move that accelerates its strategy to become the "Home of the Lionhearted."

These programs include six undergraduate degrees: Data Science and Business Analytics, and Management and Digital Innovation, awarded by the University of London (UoL) with academic direction from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE); Film and Media Production, awarded by Arts University Bournemouth (AUB); Software Engineering, awarded by the University of Stirling; and Tourism Management and Event Management, awarded by Bournemouth University (BU).

BUV offers a dual Master of Business degree awarded by both BUV and Staffordshire University, featuring five specializations: Global Management, Digital Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality, Creative Industries and Fintech and Data Analytics.

With the introduction of these programs, BUV welcomes Bournemouth University as a new partner institution. Bournemouth is ranked among the top 100 universities globally and third in the U.K. in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2024. The university also ranks 39th out of 1,963 institutions in THE Impact Rankings 2024, based on the U.N.'s Sustainable Development Goals.

BUV's 100% internationally accredited faculty ensures students receive a global education enriched with practical insights.

Students at BUV will have access to nearly 50 partner universities across five continents for exchange programs and transfer opportunities. As BUV aims to become the leading international university in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, its commitment to delivering accredited British education equips students with both academic excellence and the "lionhearted" resilience of the UK's Royal Lion symbol.

At the event, Professor Raymond Gordon, Vice-Chancellor and President of BUV, emphasized the institution's mission: "Our commitment to academic excellence extends beyond delivering internationally recognized qualifications. We believe every BUV student will embody the lionhearted spirit, prepared to thrive in an ever-changing world."

Expanded scholarship opportunities

During the event, BUV also announced its 2025 Scholarship Fund, valued at VND150 billion (US$6.25 million), an increase of nearly 75% compared to 2024. This fund aims to expand opportunities for outstanding young individuals nationwide, regardless of geographic or social background.

Scholarships will cover up to 100% of tuition fees, including the Founders' Scholarship, Lion's Heart Scholarship, British Ambassador's Scholarship, Vice Chancellor's Scholarship, Dean's Scholarship, discipline-specific scholarships, and talent-based scholarships. The Lion's Heart Scholarship, covering 100% of tuition fees, is designed for students who face physical or health challenges or come from disadvantaged backgrounds. These students must demonstrate exceptional resilience, courage, and a ‘lionhearted spirit' to overcome personal barriers and inspire those around them.

The British Ambassador's Scholarship, also covering 100% of fees, is awarded to students with outstanding academic records, strong community service engagement, and leadership potential.

Speaking at the event, Marcus Winsley, British Deputy Ambassador to Vietnam, highlighted the role of BUV in fostering educational cooperation between the U.K. and Vietnam.

"The launch of new programs and scholarships further provides access to the U.K.'s advanced educational heritage for Vietnamese students, regardless of their background."

With these initiatives, BUV reinforces its mission to contribute to Vietnam's development by nurturing students with "resilient hearts and brilliant minds," he said.
