Unveiling of QS Yearbook 2024 in Vietnam

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the prestigious U.K.-based education ranking organization, has just released the QS Yearbook 2024, which evaluates and ranks universities worldwide in the QS World University Rankings list. This is one of the world's most widely recognized and reliable annual university rankings.

QS Stars is a star rating system, part of the assessment system of the Quacquarelli Symonds Higher Education Quality Assurance Organization - a quality measure recognized by leading universities around the world.

This system assesses and ranks based on various rigorous criteria including learning experience, employability and outcome, sustainability, research and innovation, and global engagement.

The 5-star rating is the highest level, awarded to universities that achieve excellent scores across all criteria.

Globally, some renowned universities that have been rated 5 stars for many years by QS include Harvard University, MIT, Stanford, Oxford, Cambridge, and the National University of Singapore.

In Vietnam, the year 2024 witnessed a notable increase, with 9 universities making it to QS stars ratings, marking a surge of 4 compared to 2023.

The British University Vietnam (BUV) stands out as the sole university awarded a comprehensive 5-star rating by QS, a distinction it has upheld since 2022.

In Southeast Asia, Thailand has two universities achieving a 5-star QS rating, the Philippines has one, Malaysia has 14, Indonesia has two, and Brunei has two.

In broad terms, universities awarded a 5-star rating by QS are considered top-tier universities on a global scale.

These universities are characterized by their high-calibre faculty, cutting-edge academic programs, state-of-the-art facilities, and vibrant international learning environment.

Graduates from QS 5-star universities typically enjoy favorable job prospects with attractive salaries, thanks to the universities' esteemed reputation and the quality of education widely acknowledged by employers.
