Da Nang man killed in karaoke brawl

Tran Van Thang, 32, died after being stabbed in the neck by Le Cong Binh, 31, on Monday night, Da Nang police said Tuesday.

At around 8 p.m. Monday, Thang and 34-year-old Mai Ngan Phong, who live on Pham Nhu Xuong Street in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, sang karaoke with a mobile loudspeaker while having a drinking party.

At 10 p.m., Binh, who lives in the same neighborhood, requested Thang to stop singing and turn off the music to not affect other neighbors. An argument ensued, escalating into violence, and Binh used a knife to stab Thang.

After Thang fell to the ground, Binh turned himself in to the police of Hoa Khanh Nam Ward.
