Woman beats neighbor to death over dog defecation dispute

Police in Vinh Long Province arrested Nguyen Thi Cuc, 47, on Wednesday to investigate her for "intentionally inflicting injuries or causing harm to the health of other persons leading to human death."

According to a preliminary investigation, Cuc visited a neighbor's house on the night of June 8 to complain that the neighbor's daughter had allowed their dog to defecate in front of her home.

As Cuc returned, the 65-year-old neighbor and her daughter confronted Cuc at her house, initiating a quarrel that quickly escalated into a physical fight.

During the altercation, the elderly woman grabbed Cuc's hair and pushed her head down. Cuc retaliated by striking the woman's head with bare hands, causing her to lose consciousness.

The neighbor was then rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
