A Ukrainian tourist has been arrested in Thailand's resort island of Phuket after allegedly trashing a rented condo and causing more than ฿350,000 ($10,492) in damage.

The incident came to light after the condo owner shared her experience online. According to the Bangkok Post, the owner said she received a message from the tenant informing her that she had vacated the unit and discarded the keys.

Upon inspecting the condo, the owner discovered extensive graffiti and scribbles covering the walls and ceilings.

Thai immigration authorities apprehended the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Anastasia, at Phuket Airport late last week as she attempted to leave the country, Khaosod English reported.

Anastasia reportedly admitted to causing the damage during initial questioning by police, claiming she acted out of frustration over her deposit not being returned, said local police chief Somsak Thongkliang.

The situation escalated when Anastasia failed to attend a scheduled meeting with investigators, leading authorities to issue an arrest warrant. Police subsequently tracked her down to another condominium in Phuket, where she was arrested on Tuesday.
