Hee Lic Yuan was sentenced for multiple charges on April 16, including sexually penetrating a minor and producing sexually explicit materials involving minors, according to The Straits Times.
Court documents revealed that Hee started committing these offenses in 2017-2018 when he first contacted a teenage girl via Instagram, offering money for explicit photos and videos. In 2019, he offered the same victim S$350 ($267) in exchange for sex, to which she agreed. During one encounter, he recorded the girl without consent, and when confronted, promised to delete the footage.
After the girl blocked him on social media, Hee harassed her through alternative platforms, demanding repayment of S$100. Upon her refusal, he threatened to leak her explicit photos.
Investigations showed Hee's youngest victim was only 13 years old. He used the "sugar daddy" arrangement, promising cash and gifts in exchange for companionship and explicit content, CNA reported.
Victims began reporting him to authorities in 2021, leading to his eventual arrest.
