A man in central Quang Ngai Province murdered his cousin's family over a land conflict on Wednesday.

At around 5:30 a.m., locals in Nghia Dong Commune of Quang Ngai City heard cries for help coming from the house of 50-year-old Tai. When they arrived at the site, they found Tai lying unconscious in his garden, with multiple wounds. Blood was found all over the house.

Tai’s wife, Pham Thi Phuong, was found dead inside the bathroom. The couple’s two children, aged 4 and 7, were both wounded.

All victims were rushed to hospital, but Tai succumbed to his injuries. The children survived.

Quang Ngai police then arrested Le Dinh Thuyet, 57, Tai’s cousin, as a prime suspect. Thuyet was hiding inside Tai’s garden at the time.

Thuyet said he had a land conflict with Tai’s family, so he "wanted revenge."

An investigation is ongoing.
