On early Monday, residents of the Sala urban area heard a loud noise and when they rushed out to check, found a man lying motionless on the road. The man was living with his wife and two children at an apartment on the fourth floor of the area.
As police arrived, they confirmed the man dead and checked the apartment.
Inside, they found three other family members with severe injuries in the living room, surrounded by lots of blood.
The woman, 37, her son, 7, and 3-year-old daughter were rushed to hospital, but the girl did not survive.
Neighbors reported hearing arguments from the apartment before the incident.
Police have cordoned off the scene and are investigating the possibility that the husband attacked his family before jumping to his death.
Around 7 km away from HCMC’s downtown District 1, the Sala urban area is a modern residential and commercial development in Thu Thiem New Urban Area.
