The driver, 40-year-old Nampueng, said she picked up the Iranian man at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok on Sunday, the Bangkok Post reported. The man then allegedly touched her body and tried to put his hand inside her pants during the trip. The driver then drove to a nearby police station.
When she reached a police booth, there was no one stationed, so she called out passersby to help her. The Iranian man initially told her to stop shouting, before running away without paying, The Nation reported.
She reported the matter to the police, providing officers with the man’s name and phone number as described in the ride-hailing application he used to book her.
Authorities then found the suspect at an immigration desk of the Suvarnabhumi Airport, trying to leave Thailand on a plane.
