Nguyen Van Ha, 26, was detained by police of Lam Ha District to be investigated for "engaging in sexual intercourse with a person aged from 13 to under 16."
The family of the 15-year-old girl said that on July 12, the girl was home alone when a man came by, asking to use the restroom. While the girl was distracted, he restrained her and tried to bring her into the house to rape her.
The girl retaliated and screamed for help, biting the man’s lip so hard that it bled. The man feared being found out, and fled.
The teenager then used her phone to videotape the man’s license plate, as well as his appearance, before reporting the matter to the police.
