Girl, 13, gets pregnant after raped by neighbor

Le Van Hoang, 30, is now facing the charge of "raping a minor."

In early July, the girl's family noticed her belly getting bigger than normal, so they took her to a hospital, where doctors found she was 22-week pregnant.

The adults reported the case to the police.

An investigation identified Hoang as the main suspect.

Hoang admitted to the police that he had raped the girl on several occasions.

The first time he committed the crime was in mid-February when he visited the girl’s home after a drinking session and found her at home alone.

He raped her and threatened to harm her more if she dared telling anyone.

As per existing laws in Vietnam, rape involving a victim aged between 13 and under 16, the penalties can range from seven to 15 years of imprisonment.
