Three Chinese nationals were arrested in Thailand on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in an online gambling network that authorities say has amassed more than 200,000 members.

Police identified the suspects as Wen Chong, 41, Peng Cheng, 24, and Po Hong, 31. They were taken into custody following a raid on a condominium in Bangkok's Huai Khwang District, according to a report by the Bangkok Post.

During the raid, officers seized computers, mobile phones, SIM cards, ammunition and illegal drugs.

The suspects had been renting the condominium for ฿100,000 ($2,961) per month despite appearing to have no formal employment, said Saksira Pheuk-am, commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau.

Authorities stated that Wen Chong and Po Hong are wanted in China. All three suspects have been charged with operating gambling websites and possessing drugs and ammunition. The network in question is allegedly owned by Chinese investors and based in Cambodia, Thaiger reported.

Their arrests came with a wider police campaign aimed at identifying and apprehending foreign nationals working illegally in Thailand, Saksira said.
