Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Chinese tourist after a Thai sex worker was found dead in a Bangkok hotel room.

According to Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau Noppasil Poonsaway, the warrant was issued on Sunday after the victim's family filed a complaint, The Straits Times reported.

The tourist, identified as Duoying, faces a charge of causing death by negligence.

Hotel employees in the Bang Kapi area alerted police on Feb. 10 after discovering the partially clothed body of the victim, identified as Irada, in a guest room.

Security camera footage showed Duoying checking into the room the night before, and Irada entering in the early hours of Feb. 10.

Duoying was recorded leaving the room at around 6 a.m. and did not return, The Nation reported.
