90 Vietnamese nationals were arrested on drug-related charges in the fourth quarter of 2024, Busan police said Wednesday.

The arrests followed raids at nine bars and clubs in Sejong, Cheonan, Asan, Jincheon and Daegu from September to December last year, according to Yonhap.

Authorities said the suspects were investigated for allegedly distributing and using drugs, including seven Vietnamese nationals who were suspected of importing over ₩1 billion (US$691,300) worth of drugs into South Korea in May last year, KBS reported.

Among the individuals found using drugs, 33 overstayed in South Korea and have been deported.

Police seized narcotics valued at around ₩300 million ($207,695), including ketamine, ecstasy, and cannabinoids.
