30 Chinese arrested in Vietnam's Nha Trang for online gambling

Police in Vietnam's coastal city of Nha Trang have detained 30 Chinese nationals and one Vietnamese suspect after late-night raids uncovered an online gambling ring operating from hotels and rental apartments.

Khanh Hoa Police on Dec. 28 said hundreds of officers simultaneously swept through multiple locations across Nha Trang, including hotels, serviced apartments and rental homes in Nha Trang, Nam Nha Trang and Tay Nha Trang wards on Dec. 26.

Many suspects were caught placing bets and managing online gambling platforms in real time.

Investigators say the group entered Vietnam on tourist visas before renting properties to set up gambling activities. Officers seized computers, mobile phones and various related documents as evidence.

Authorities are now working to clarify each individual's role and proceed with legal actions for online gambling and betting violations.
