Amin Huzaifah, 24, Anthony Vu Phi Long Pham, 35, and Nguyen Michael, 29, were detained by police of downtown District 1 for disrupting public order.
The three people, part of a group of 10, came to the Atmost Bar on Ton That Dam Street on June 29 for drinks. They later had conflicts with a group of customers from the next table, including 37-year-old man Minh Nguyen and two other Australian men.
They had a physical confrontation, and were asked by the bar employees to leave. In front of the bar, Anthony’s group continued to launch attacks at their foes, however there were no injuries inflicted.
After the incident died down, everyone separated. Minh Nguyen and his two friends then walked to Pasteur Street to get a ride home. However, when they reached an intersection, they were chased after by Amin, Anthony and Michael, who punched and kicked them in the face and head. Minh Nguyen and his friends received mild injuries as a result.
Passersby saw what happened and reported the matter to the police, who came to the scene right afterwards and took all those involved back to the police station.
Anthony’s group then admitted that they came to Vietnam as tourists. As they drank too much, they lost self-control and attacked Minh Nguyen’s group, they said.
