A newly detected Covid patient in Hanoi had visited a vaccination point in Hoan Kiem District, prompting authorities to track down people who had been to the location.

The Hoan Kiem District Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on Thursday said people who had been to the Trung Vuong Secondary School on Hang Bai Street from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday would need to self-isolate themselves and contact authorities immediately.

The Hoan Kiem People's Committee said a 31-year-old woman, who works for a printing company, tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday. She worked with another colleague who was previously found infected through Covid-19 screening processes on Thursday.

On Tuesday, the woman came to the Trung Vuong school to get vaccinated against Covid-19. As she had hypertension before, she only went through health screening and went home without getting a shot.

After testing positive, contact tracing efforts began and authorities have found at least 70 people associated with the case, albeit with low infection chances. The people have been informed about the case and advised to stay home, get tested and monitor their own health.

Hanoi has been detecting new coronavirus clusters in the past weeks. From 6 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday, the city has discovered 21 new coronavirus cases who are linked to clusters in several districts.

The capital has officially recorded 1,762 local Covid-19 cases since the fourth coronavirus wave struck Vietnam in late April.
