The man, named Wang, played the game at a night market in Henan Province on Feb. 14, which offers the Maserati as the top prize, along with numerous other rewards such as cows and sheep, the SCMP reported.
Wang spent CN¥2,000 (US$276) to buy the rings and spent three hours tossing them. Around 8,000 rings were tossed in total, News18 reported.
"I threw thousands of rings, and my hands felt a bit sore," he said, adding that he plays basketball as a hobby.
Wang is negotiating with the game stall's owner to exchange the right for cash, as the Maserati he won has a one-year usage right instead of ownership.
On social media, several users also advised Wang to take the cash instead.
"If you only get the car for one year, what's the point?" one comment read.
