Opening the committee's plenum Monday, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong called on members to voice their opinions about the Politburo, the Communist Party's decision-making body, and the Secretariat, which handles personnel issues.
The plenum would discuss several important issues, and so members need to research and participate in the confidence vote on the leadership and guidance provided by the Politburo and Secretariat, Trong added.
The seventh plenum will convene for three days, providing a chance for the Central Party Committee to review the committee's achievements and shortcomings, forecast the future situation and propose policies and initiatives.
Under Politburo regulations, a confidence vote is held in the third year of the five-year term of a National Congress.
For casting the votes, the plenum considers members' political integrity, morals, lifestyles, and achievement of their tasks, among others.
The Central Party Committee meets every six months.
