Many students from the British University Vietnam (BUV) have caught the attention of top employers in technology, finance, real estate, and international hospitality at the BUV Career Fair 2025, even before graduation.

The annual career fair at BUV's Ecopark campus on April 10 welcomed nearly 50 leading recruiters, including Ernst & Young Vietnam, Panasonic, Shopee, Sun Group, CBRE, FPT IS, Gameloft, Marriott International, and Accor Hotels. The event attracted more than 1,700 student visits, with various activities and recruitment zones generating strong interest throughout the day.

Industry exposure from first year

In the "Speed Interview" zone, recruiters conducted 15-minute mock interviews designed to simulate real hiring experiences. According to a Novotel representative, this format offered a valuable opportunity for companies to identify potential candidates early on.

This year, many BUV students, including those in their first or second years, were selected for follow-up recruitment rounds. This reflects a growing trend in hiring strategies, with businesses increasingly investing in early talent development.

"I was genuinely surprised by how proactive and confident BUV students are," said Nguyen Hong Ngoc, Director of Talent Acquisition and Development at Sun Group. "Even those in their early university years already had clear career goals and asked thoughtful questions about internship opportunities. It shows they're not only well-informed but also driven and eager to learn."

Many recruiters highlighted BUV students' strengths, particularly in languages, digital competencies, professionalism, and self-assurance—qualities that are essential in today's job market.

"BUV students use English fluently, and some even speak Korean, Chinese, or Japanese," said Quynh Anh, Training Coordinator at JW Marriott. "That gives them a real edge in international workplaces. They also bring practical experience and self-awareness, which helps them stand out to employers."

Having worked with several BUV interns, Huong Le, HR Director at Ritz-Carlton, shared that the students bring openness and initiative, qualities highly valued by employers. "Even first-year students came in with insightful questions, showing they're serious about career development from the start," she said.

Ritz-Carlton is currently hiring for positions in front office, F&B, marketing, HR, and finance, with structured training and clear promotion pathways. She also praised BUV's hospitality program for its hands-on training and well-equipped facilities, noting that many first-year students had already completed internships with the university's industry partners, giving them the confidence and clarity to engage deeply during interviews.

Practical experiences for real-world readiness

To ensure students are well-prepared, BUV Career Fair 2025 introduced a variety of activities aimed at developing essential workplace skills, including mock interviews and professional CV photoshoots. One standout feature this year was the Career Boost Zone, where students received one-on-one CV feedback from recruitment specialists at Aloha Consulting Group and ManpowerGroup.

Also at the event, ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) and BISC, Vietnam's leading ICAEW ACA and ACCA certification training center, offered a range of scholarships and skill courses worth over VND 1 billion exclusively for BUV students. Among the highlights was a 100% scholarship for the first level of the ICAEW certificate, designed for first- and second-year students interested in accounting and finance. This program is especially beneficial for those aiming to work with top-tier firms such as Ernst & Young (EY), Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, Grant Thornton, Mazars, and more.

At the TechXperience Zone, leading tech companies showcased immersive technologies including virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), extended reality (XR), robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI). Students had the opportunity to interact directly with these innovations, explore digital transformation trends, and learn more about career paths in creative and emerging technologies.

BUV Career Fair 2025 was more than just a traditional recruitment event; it reflected the university's commitment to developing well-rounded graduates who are academically strong, career-ready, and confident in navigating a dynamic job market.

Organized as part of BUV's exclusive Personal & Social Growth (PSG) program, the fair aims to connect students with top employers, expand access to internships and job placements, and support one of BUV's five strategic goals for 2025: ensuring quality internship opportunities for all BUV students.
