Apple has announced that its AI platform, Apple Intelligence, will begin supporting the Vietnamese language starting next year, making it one of the first languages available besides English.

The company revealed that the feature will be part of a free update across all supported devices. A beta version will be rolled out next month with iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, but only for devices set to English (U.S.) as the system language. In December, localized English versions for Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the U.K. will also become available.

By 2025, Apple Intelligence will expand its language support to include Vietnamese, Chinese, French, German, and Japanese.

Apple's voice assistant Siri is also expected to gain Vietnamese language support, enabling users to issue commands in Vietnamese.

Apple first introduced Apple Intelligence at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 10. The platform offers features such as email and notification summaries, paragraph editing and photo object removal, among others.

Apple CEO Tim Cook visited Vietnam in April, meeting with developers and content creators. The tech giant had previously announced to increase spending for suppliers in Vietnam, along with developing community projects.
