A Da Nang-Con Dao flight on Sunday had to turn back for emergency landing due to an engine issue triggered by fuel leakage.

The QH1061 DAD-VCS flight from central Da Nang City to Con Dao Islands of southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, operated by Bamboo Airways, had to turn back soon after crew members noticed warning signals of an engine issue, Cong An Nhan Dan newspaper on Tuesday cited a source at Da Nang International Airport as saying.

Firefighters were deployed to the airport as a precaution, but the plane had landed without incident. A further check revealed fuel leakage from the wing of the aircraft.

The flight was delayed for three hours as a result. Passengers were switched to a different plane, and took off for Con Dao at around 11 a.m. the same day.
