A look at how foreign arrivals are quarantined in a Vietnam hotel

Foreign arrivals quarantined at hotels across Vietnam are strictly screened and restricted from having close contact with hotel staff to limit the risk of Covid-19 infection.
On Friday, Hoan Kiem Districts Medical Center receive a group of 20 South Korean experts who came to Vietnam to work. After landing at Noi Bai Airport, a bus carries them to a hotel on Hang Bong Street where these experts voluntarily signed up to be quarantined for 14 days as per the health ministrys protocol.  Generally, people fly into the country on either humanitarian or commercial flights. The former will be quarantined at military-run centralized facilities for VND120,000 ($5) a day; and the latter have to register specific addresses and bookings in designated hotels before boarding flights to Vietnam.

On Friday, Hoan Kiem District's Medical Center received a group of 20 South Korean experts visiting Vietnam for work purposes. When getting off the plane, these experts have their body temperatures checked and are required to wear protective clothing during the journey back to the hotel. Before boarding, passengers are required to show a certificate confirming they have tested negative for novel coronavirus using the RT-PCR method within three to five days. In addition to required documents such as passports and entry visas, they are also required to make online declarations within 12 hours before departure and sign commitment to pay treatment cost in case they are confirmed infected with Covid-19 in Vietnam.

Hotel staff guide guests to use a private elevator, no more than two people each. During work, we almost do not have direct contact with quarantined passengers and we all wear protective clothing, Tuan said and said he is being paid double salary and allowance.
