8-month-old boy beaten to death by nanny

The nanny, Le Tran Thuy Vy, was arrested by the police of Ben Cat Town on Tuesday as part of an investigation into the death of the boy.

Vy is the daughter of 35-year-old Tran Thi Thuy Hang, who has been renting a house in Ben Cat to be a nursery.

On March 23, Hang agreed to take care of two children for VND4.5 million ($180) a month. At around 2 p.m. on March 30, Hang asked Vy to take care of an 8-month-old boy. At 4 p.m., when the child woke up and cried, Vy beat the boy in the stomach, hips and back.

When she saw that the boy was no longer moving, Vy told Hang about the matter who took the boy to the hospital. However, he died before being admitted.
