A car crashed into a gas station in Hanoi’s Dong Da District Friday night, injuring at least eight people waiting to fill their motorbikes.

The incident happened at around 10:20 p.m. at the station on Lang Street when there were at least 15 customers at the place.

An employee said: "The car knocked down five motorbikes and stopped after hitting a pump. At least eight people were injured, two of them passed out."

Camera footage shows a car crash into motorbikes waiting at a gas station on Lang Street, Hanoi, August 12, 2022.

The car hit the pump hard enough to cause it to tilt sharply, but thankfully no damage involving fuel occurred.

Angry people tried to assault the car driver but were stopped by the staff.

The victims have not been identified and their condition is not known.

The car driver, Ngo Cong Han, 35, has been detained by the police.

Han told the police that he had some beer right before the incident. He was driving around one km from the restaurant when he crashed into the gas station. He said he had no intention to fill his car.
