Health authorities confirmed 287 new Covid-19 community transmissions Tuesday night, sending Vietnam's daily tally to an all time high of 444.

A majority of the new patients, 243, were recorded in the epicenter of Bac Giang Province, which borders Hanoi. All these are related to clusters at three industrial parks in the provinece: Quang Chau, Van Trung and Song Khe - Noi Hoang.

Bac Ninh, which neighbors Bac Giang, recorded 26 cases, 23 of whom had come into contact with previously confirmed Covid-19 patients. Two are linked to two different clusters at the province’s Que Vo Industrial Park and the Dinh Tram Industrial Park in Bac Giang, and another was detected in an isolated area.

Hanoi recorded 12 cases: one of them at the K Hospital, which has just been freed from a 17-day lockdown; six having had contact with previously confirmed cases; three linked to a cluster at the city-based T&T Group; and two related to an infected doctor at the Bac Thang Long Hospital, which is treating Covid-19 patients.

Three cases each in the provinces of Lang Son and Ha Nam are of those who’d come into contact with previously confirmed Covid-19 patients.

Almost a month into the fourth community wave, the nation has logged 2,793 domestic cases in 30 cities and provinces.

Factory workers in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh now account for almost 70 percent of the total cases.
