A fire at the Vietnam-Japan Electric Vehicle Company's workshop in northern Lang Son Province destroyed around 3,000 electric bikes and motorbikes on Friday morning.

The fire broke out around 7 a.m. at the company's facility in Lang Son City. Due to the presence of equipment and batteries, several explosions were heard as thick columns of smoke rose dozens of meters into the sky.

The workshop, spanning approximately 3,000 sq.m and three floors, saw the fire originate on the second floor. Only a few workers were present at the time, and all managed to escape unharmed.

Lang Son police quickly deployed over 100 officers and firefighters to the scene. By 9 a.m., the fire was largely contained. However, part of the workshop's roof collapsed, and thousands of electric vehicles and valuable equipment were incinerated. Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze.

The Vietnam-Japan Electric Vehicle Company, founded in 2009, specializes in manufacturing electric bikes and motorbikes. The workshop has the capacity to produce up to 600 vehicles per day.
