Six Covid-19 patients in Hanoi and four in Da Nang were announced recovered Monday, bringing the tally of recoveries to 579.

The Hanoi patients were treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, and have tested negative for the novel coronavirus four times. Three of them were repatriated from Equatorial Guinea, and the other three associated with the central city of Da Nang, the epicenter of Vietnam's second Covid-19 wave that hit late July. One is a 10-year-old girl from northern Lang Son Province.

Four other patients, aged 25 to 66, were discharged from the Da Nang Hospital for Lung Diseases. They have tested negative for the virus between three to six times.

Among 219 Vietnamese repatriated from Equatorial Guinea last month, 25 were infected with the coronavirus.

Vietnam has recorded 672 local Covid-19 transmissions, with 534 related to Da Nang outbreak since late July.

The country has confirmed 1,016 Covid-19 cases so far, of whom 27 have been pronounced dead.
