VN-Index posts 6-session gaining streak

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index rose 0.20% to 1,134.33 points Tuesday in its sixth gaining session.

The index closed 2.30 points higher after gaining 2.65 points on Monday.

Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) fell by 27.94% to VND14.68 trillion ($623.68 million).

The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 12 tickers rise.

SSI of leading brokerage SSI Securities Corporation gained 3.1%, followed by VRE of retail real estate arm Vincom Retail with a 2.8% increase.

HPG of steelmaker Hoa Phat Group went up 2.4% and FPT of IT giant FPT Corporation closed 1.7% higher.

Thirteen blue chips dropped.

PDR of Phat Dat Real Estate Development closed 1.4% lower and TCB of the largest private lender Techcombank lost 1.1%.

Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of VND457 billion, mainly selling VHM of property giant Vinhomes and STB of Ho Chi Minh City-based lender Sacombank.

The HNX-Index at the Hanoi Stock Exchange, where mid and small caps list, was down 0.08% while the UPCoM-Index at the Unlisted Public Companies Market was up by 0.06%.
