The "Vietnamese Cultural Heritage 2018" exhibition, Nov 23-25, will be a cultural gala showcasing the breadth and range of tangible and intangible heritages that have been recognized nationally and internationally.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the exhibition will be held at the Vietnamese Culture and Arts Exhibition Center, No.2 Hoa Lu Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.
Photo shows, traditional art performances and games, display and sale of agricultural produce and products as well as souvenir items from various localities will be part of the exhibition.
It will also have sections where artisans and their work are displayed and honored.
At least 19 localities with national heritage and/or UNESCO recognized heritages will participate in the exhibition: Ha Giang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Phu Tho, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tra Vinh, An Giang, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap and Khanh Hoa.
Khanh Hoa, for instance, will highlight the rituals and customs of its fishing communities, the life of cadres, soldiers and residents of the Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago, and salient features of the bird’s nest business.
The exhibition seems to evoke patriotism, pride and responsibility among Vietnamese people, especially the younger generations. It seeks to contribute to building Vietnamese culture and deepening the imprints of national identity.
Localities are expected to take advantage of this event to exchange experiences in management, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values.
