Archdaily, a leading architectural website, has included two Vietnamese designs in their top 50 best houses of 2021 list.

The first Vietnamese house on the list is the Hanoi-based TH House, designed by ODDO architects. The house was selected from more than 3,800 projects published on Archdaily in the past 12 months.

Located on a small plot, the home was designed with a concept of a narrow five-story house to maximize daylight and natural ventilation, nature and spatial interconnection.

Architects created an open living space and glass facade, with the possibility of shielding in order to create privacy, simplify socialization among family members as well as with neighbors.

Another house to make the Archdaily list is in the central town of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province.

Located on 180-meter-square plot near the riverbank, the house is a space mixed with local greenery and tranquility, ideal for the education needs of the environmental expert owner’s son.

This house, apart from being a family home, offers refuge to birds, spiders, and insects. Furthermore, it is a mini-community center hosting an environmental activist group and meeting place for neighbors.
