Located in an urban area in central town of Nha Trang, the house stands on a 104-square-meter plot of land.

Unlike most houses which are built on the entire land area, this house is set back in the front, back and sides.

The three-story house has staggered blocks to freely allow wind and light.

The front faces the southwest and so receives a lot of sunshine during the day. Architects Le Minh Quang and Nguyen Ai Thy created a shield to keep out heat while ensuring ventilation and light.

For aesthetic reasons and ventilation, the walls on the side and back are fitted with small glass panels. The house has a total of 300 windows.

The occupants can minimize the use of lights in the day and hardly have to use air conditioners.

The house has a total floor area of 210 square meters. The four-member family only pays VND180,000 - 220,000 ($7.77 - 9.50) a month for electricity.

The house is built with basic local materials including green stone. Compared to other houses of the same size, it cost less.

The house has a system to harvest rainwater and treat household wastewater for use for plants.
