The special house is about 15 minutes drive from downtown HCMC. It is a three-level brick building built on narrow 7x20 meter piece of land. Two things that make this house stand out are: a continuous garden that runs up to the terrace; and a swimming pool inside the living room.
Architects Vo Trong Nghia and Tran Thi Hang, paid heed to the clients' request to having a large garden, by dividing it into smaller connected gardens.
The total area used for planting greenery is 50 square meters, accounting for more than 30 percent of the constructed area. The garden runs continuously across twelve flights of stairs that allow residents can access the top floor without going inside any room.
The indoor swimming pool runs along the house's entire length right in front of the living room.
The house has a twisting configuration due to various terrace sizes created by rooms with different functions on each floor. The gaps created by the twisting bring more natural sunlight and outside air.
Its interior space, including the bedroom, adopts a minimalist approach and emphasizes its practical aspects.
The bathroom looks like a miniature pool.
The house was constructed with local bricks to not only reduce its carbon footprint but also give it a rustic feel.
