One of the most important music events in the world, this year it has been postponed twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The only Vietnamese to qualify before Trung was Dang Thai Son in 1980. He went on to win the competition.
Born in 1996, Trung is in his fifth year at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where he is taught by renowned Polish pianist Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń. He has won many prizes at piano competitions, including the grand prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Vietnam (2019), third prize at the International Piano Competition in Karlovac, Croatia (2019), and the grand prize and first prize at the All-Poland CEA Auditions (2014).
Polish music magazine Twoja Muza once called him "a music star with undeniable piano talent."
