Vovinam, the traditional martial art of Vietnam, has been featured in the sixth episode of U.S. TV show The Bachelor.

Aired on February 18, the latest episode of The Bachelor in its 23rd season has been shot in Cam Ranh Peninsula, central Khanh Hoa Province. Contestants had the chance to experience the Vietnamese martial art, Vovinam, in one of the challenges. Before going into combat, eight female contestants were taught some basic Vovinam techniques.

The challenge was filmed in a complex of old houses in Khanh Hoa. The host of Bachelor Vietnam’s first season, Khoi Tran, also joined this episode, co-hosting it with the famous Chris Harrison.

The 23rd season of The Bachelor features 26-year-old Colton Underwood, a former professional football player, on his journey to find the right love from among 30 female contestants. This season, the show will include visits to Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Portugal.

In 2014, Hoi An and Da Nang were chosen as shooting locations for the show.

Condé Nast Traveler ranked Cam Ranh as one of the best places to visit in 2018, praising its "pristine coastline and beaches."

First aired in 2002, The Bachelor is one of the most well-known reality shows on dating. Different versions of the show have appeared in more than 30 countries including Vietnam.

The Bachelor Vietnam’s first season was aired in 2018 and concluded after 12 episodes. The show made headlines after one of the contestants announced her love for another female contestant as she left the show.
