Vietnamese lensman scoops int'l medals

Photographer Ninh Manh Thang won two silver medals for his photos at Photo Circle 2021.

Thang was honored in the travel and street categories with two photos-- "Buc Tranh Da Van Long" (rough translation: Van Long Stone Picture), and "Giac Mo Pho" (rough translation: Street Dream).

The only Vietnamese lensman to earn two medals at Photo Circle 2021, Thang is one of 12 local photographers having their works showcased at the contest.

"I am so happy to have two gold medals..., and thank you for your encouragement," Thang wrote on his Facebook page, displaying the two photos.

The contest, organized by Photo Art Group Prilep in North Macedonia, comprising 3,033 photos of 158 lensmen from 45 countries and territories, witnessed amateur and professional photographers compete across nine categories, including open color, open monochrome, nature, photojournalism, travel, portraiture, wildlife, architecture, and street.

Its judges are professional photographers from Germany, Macedonia, and Vietnam.

Thang, a 63-year-old native of northern Ninh Binh Province, is a professional photographer and has won many awards at both domestic and international events in recent years.

Previously, Thang also won a medal at Three Country Grand Circuit 2020.
