Tycoon typhoon shames Vietnamese celebs in live-stream video

On May 25, the businesswoman live-streamed a three-hour-long video on her Facebook page, attracting around 300,000 viewers, handily breaking the previous record of more than 161,000 set by singer Hoa Vinh in 2018.

In the video, she mentioned rumors about Saigon-based comedian Hoai Linh and the VND13.4 billion ($581,742) he raised to support flood victims in the central region last October. After six months, he has done nothing to distribute the money, she said, citing the rumors.

"The truth will be revealed sooner or later," she said in the video.

In the last few weeks, Hang has been exposing information about the lives and scandals of many people in Vietnamese showbiz industry, including actress Hong Van, singers Dam Vinh Hung and Vy Oanh, and so-called spiritual healer Vo Hoang Yen, who some people believe successfully cures deaf and mute people.

She said Hong Van used foul language when mentioning her fans, while Vy Oanh had earned a huge amount of money after having a child with a rich man. Dam Vinh Hung had not been transparent in distributing money he collected from others, while Vo Hoang Yen was a conman cheating people of money by promising to cure them, Hang said.

Even though many of her claims have not been proved, local netizens are now waiting for hours to watch her videos. The allegations she makes as well as Hang’s tendency to flaunt her wealth have become topics of earnest discussion. Many of her quips have become trendy on social media.

"Omg, I cannot believe that she knows such a lot of things in showbiz, and the way she talks is so attractive and straightforward," gushed Nguyen Hoang Van, a Hanoi resident.

Hang (birth name: Nguyen Thi Thanh Tuyen), 50, is the general director of the Dai Nam Joint Stock Company in southern Binh Duong Province. The company is an investor in several industrial zones.

The businesswoman is known to flaunt her gold and diamond jewelry; and has once boasted that she owns 30 hectares of residential land in Binh Duong. She and her husband, Huynh Uy Dung, former general director of the company, are famous both for their lavish life and philanthropy.
