According to The Straits Times, Nana’s agency Sublime confirmed on Jan. 2 that the home intruder suspect, a man in his 30s, filed a complaint against the 35-year-old star, accusing her of "attempted murder" and "aggravated bodily injury."
The Korea Times reported that the suspect was arrested in November last year on charges of armed robbery causing injury after allegedly entering the home Nana shares with her mother in Gyeonggi Province. Police reports stated that he demanded money while threatening Nana’s mother with a weapon. Both Nana and her mother sustained injuries, with Nana’s mother subsequently receiving hospital treatment.
Reports indicate that Nana subdued the intruder after waking to her mother’s screams. During the altercation, the intruder reportedly suffered an open wound to his jaw, caused by the knife he was carrying. Police had determined the injuries were inflicted in self-defense and did not press charges against Nana or her mother.
The suspect initially admitted to the crimes but later reversed his statement during the investigation, claiming he "did not possess a weapon at the time of the crime or inflict injuries on the victims."
Sublime said it is cooperating fully with authorities and confirmed that legal proceedings are ongoing. Nana has not publicly commented on the countersuit.
Born Im Jin Ah, Nana first gained recognition in 2009 when debuting with After School. She later launched her acting career in 2015 and is known for her roles in TV dramas including "Love Weaves Through a Millennium," "The Good Wife," "Kill It," and "Justice."
